  Worthy successor to older model

  Over the years we have had several Panasonic microwaves, and all have given us very good service. Features have progressively improved: from purely manual selection of power and cycle time, to having automatic sensor cooking with a range of inbuilt power/time combinations for commonly-required food and drink items. At first sight, the latest model did appear to be reversing the trend: having fewer buttons than its superseded equivalent. However, in fact the new one does have more inbuilt sensor cook menus, cleverly provided by having each button open up a sub-menu giving access to several (2-5) options. For example: the 'Breakfast' button opens up to 'Porridge' or ' Scrambled Eggs'. This unit continues to have the sturdy, solid feel that was evident on previous models, and it comes with a proper printed Instruction Manual cum Recipe Book. Our only negative comment is that the text on the operating buttons would be easier to read if it had more colour-contrast with its background. Overall, though, we are quite happy with the unit, and would recommend it to anyone.

  Love the good light inside when cooking ,big turn table and easy to use menu. Looks good too. I would prefer a clearer menu button display ,needs to be brighter or have a backlight., but this does not affect the great overall use of this microwave.

  Difficult to set a time

  The buttons are difficult to see, and it's not a simple process to set the time. Aside from the 30sec quick set, you need to set a power level before starting, then break down the time into minutes and 10sec blocks, pressing buttons for each. I really wish i had insisted on a plugged-in demo at the store rather than listening to the rep on the day. I'm rather unhappy with this purchase.
