  Some design issues

  Works fairly well overall so far for chopping/slicing but design/operability could be improved. The round speed selector knob is smooth so can be slippery if fingers are wet. A knob that has finger grips at the front would be better and would make visual speed check easy and operation of the knob more positive. This would be especially helpful when using the juicing attachment which requires quick on and offs. The juicer is the worst design feature. The juicing attachment is geared down and use of speed one is advised. However, the reduced speed is still much too fast for safe operation. It's very easy for the fruit being juiced to slip out of your hand and be flung away (esp. small fruit like limes), and you can graze your fingers on the juicing attachment - the ribs are quite sharp. We had evaluated the options and decided on a higher model before a staff member attended to us and told us there was no stock and no indication of when new stock would arrive, even though all models were still on display. This unit was bought to replace a 30 year old, low-end model Ronson brand food processor. The build quality appears to be as good as that, so only time will tell if it lasts as well. We have a forty year old Kenwood Chef that's only required minor repairs, so fingers crossed.
