Impressive machine! So simple to use.
This machine makes a great tasting barista style coffee so simple. Breville has incorporated 4 keys elements into their machines to assist in making the perfect coffee we all desire. 1. Dosage. A consistent measured dosage for either a single or double shot selection. 2. Water temp. The heat pump produces the ideal water temp of 93. 3. 9 Bar of pressure during the extraction phase , allows all the flavours to be extracted from the coffee grinds. 4. A steam wand that produces 130 steam, perfect for making the milk microfoam to top off the perfect coffee. The key feature for me is the intelligent auto dosage which provides a consistent 8-11gms single shot or 18-22gms double shot dosage and the assisted tamping mechanism, which produces a perfect 10kg of pressure with a final 7 twist just like a professional barista would do to produce a perfect polished puck, ready for the extraction process. Once you have dialed in the correct grind setting for your preferred coffee beans, this allows the correct pressure during the extraction process, as indicated by the grey range on the pressure gauge. This machine takes all of the guess work out of the equation for those of us with no barista experience. Moderately priced and highly recommended.

So easy to use!
We have never had a coffee machine before, prefering to by our coffees from a cafe. However, after much research, we decided on the Breville the Barista Express Impress. It had the best reviews for coffee machines that were within our budget and now we can clearly see why. It was so easy to set up and get started and after a couple of go's at getting the espresso / milk ratio correct, we were making absolutely perfect lattes! The automatic dosing and tamping guidance, means that you get the perfect dose every time, with no mess. We love this machine and can totally recommend it to anyone looking to buy their first coffee machine!

Easy to use, I particularly like the built in dose and tamp function. Consistent tamping each time and reduces coffee grounds mess. It took me a few days to get the grind right, but I can get a decent coffee now. I have struggled a little with setting up the pour volume for single and double - it seems to have a mind of its own - but that could be a me problem. All in all I think it's a good value machine

Frustrating
Unfortunately I've had annoying issues with my machine since I bought it 2 months ago. The puck is often wet and gets stuck most of the time and it's a pain to need to re-insert the portafilter, sometimes multiple times, to get it out. Also it's been challenging to find a setting that produces proper espresso-range pressure and correct timing with the extraction. I make sure the dosage level is perfect; I've tried every grind size and multiple kinds of beans; I've tried with and without running water through it before my extraction as the manual recommends, It's just always one issue or another, which is a shame because it's simple to use and produces nice coffee.

Simple barista at home
I love all the features on this machine. Working in a cafe myself, I love a good coffee and extraction is to perfection. Whether you want the machine to automatically extract or you have time to dial in… this machine does both! The inbuilt tamper is such a bonus leaving the bench mess free and dose of ground beans simple.

Great machine
We had the Barista Express machine years ago, then decided to upgrade to automatic one. Since we enjoyed barista made coffee more than the automatic we decided to get it again but this time with upgraded auto tamping! Love it, tasty coffee ☕️
