Our world has changed forever and with it, the world of work. For many of us, that means a more flexible, hybrid model and no more daily commute. Hooray! The latest laptops are up for the challenge, letting you work or play from wherever you are. Upgrading to the latest Lenovo laptops means you can stream your favourite shows at the park, take a Zoom call in your backyard, get work done near the beach… or do whatever the day has in store.
“This new hybrid work model means it’s really important to make sure you have the right tools to get the job done,” says Jason Tavoletti, The Good Guys Buyer – Computers. “Really consider where and how you’ll use your laptop to ensure you get the features that will actually help you.”
Lenovo makes computers designed to survive almost anything life throws at them, offering mega battery life, lots of power under the hood and a host of other top features to give you the portability and freedom you're looking for.
According to Jason Tavoletti, there are a few things to keep in mind when looking for a laptop that will be travelling a lot between the office and home. “Do you just need to do basic word processing, or do you need something with more graphics power? Do you need something ultraportable because you’ll be walking long distances, or can you just put it in the car and drive it home?” Getting something with the right power level is important, but you also need to make sure you can comfortably carry your laptop wherever you need to go.
Whether your job is naturally outside, or you’re just taking it outside to the park or your backyard, there’s something magical about the great outdoors that keeps you feeling grounded, even while you’re tackling yet another spreadsheet.
But there are a few things to consider when changing scenery, says award-winning technology journalist Alice Clarke. “You’ll need a light, portable laptop with a long battery life, a good camera and a bright screen so you can see and be seen, even in bright sunlight.”
We’re all road-tripping, caravanning or flying off to parts unknown again, so what do we need in a laptop travel buddy? Alice Clarke says, “I’ve spent years travelling with a bunch of different laptops, and the key things I look for are that they are light, are comfortable to type on, have a long battery life in case it’s a while between power points, and charge with USB-C so I can use just one charger for everything.”
Laptops make it easy for kids and teens to stream their favourite shows, do their homework, and run all the educational apps used by their school. Because kids are still working out what it is they love, it’s important to get a versatile laptop so they’re covered for anything life and school throws at them. The child- and- teen-friendly Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 5 14" Win 11 2-in-1 Laptop is a good choice, with its powerful i5 quad-core processor, an adaptable Lenovo laptop touch screen and the flexibility to be used as a laptop or a tablet.
Whether you’re already part of the Lenovo family, or you’re curious about this famous and well-respected computer company, here are some of the answers to your burning questions.
Lenovo is a publicly traded company based in China.
If you already have a Lenovo laptop and are looking to upgrade, it’s important that you reset your old laptop before passing it on.
Here’s how you do it: Go to Settings through the Windows Start Menu, then Update and Security. From there, go to Recovery and select Reset This PC. Follow the prompts from there and you’ll have a fully reset laptop – just make sure you back up your files first.
