Can You Melt Easter Egg Chocolate?
Yep, sure can! Make melting Easter chocolate easy with a next-gen microwave that has specific Melt and Soften settings, or use a double boiler on the cooktop. Don’t have a double boiler? Don’t stress: boil the kettle, fill a bowl with hot water and balance a separate bowl with chocolate chunks over the top, and stir occasionally to melt.

Can You Bake With Easter Egg Chocolate?
You can substitute Easter egg chocolate for its matching variety (white, milk or dark) in a recipe, but not for baking chips, which have stabilisers that help keep the chip shape when heated. Keep in mind that white chocolate melts faster than milk and dark chocolate respectively.
“When doing any kind of baking, it’s important to remember that a reliable oven with an even heat is the key to a perfect result,” says Tania Grillinzoni, The Good Guys Buyer – Cooking and Dishwashers. “Electric ovens, in particular, are known for their accurate temperature settings, while gas ovens help cakes and puddings stay moist.”
That said, upgrading to a steam oven could offer any passionate baker the best of both worlds. The moist heat, created when water evaporates to steam in the hot oven, gives you not only luscious, light cake centres but also crispier crusts.

5-Minute Chocolate Fudge
Our friends at Sunbeam know the secret to a delicious fudge! This Sunbeam recipe is best made with the Sunbeam White Planetary Heat Soft Mixmaster, which lets you melt and mix in the same bowl. The stand mixer’s heat setting warms the bowl to soften ingredients like butter or, in this case, to melt the chocolate.
Hot Tip: Watch the melting time – hollow eggs will melt faster than solid ones.
Prep time: 5 mins
Cook time: 2 hours, chilling only
Serves: 40
Ingredients
500g dark chocolate buttons
395g tin of condensed milk
Method
1. Place ingredients in the Sunbeam Mixmaster Heat Soft Planetary Mixer. Add the scraper beater and splash guard.
2. Turn the mixer on, select MELT, then mix on low speed, gradually increasing the speed to break up the chocolate.
3. While the chocolate is melting, line a square baking tin with baking paper.
4. Melt for 4-5 minutes or until the mixture is thick and glossy.
5. Pour the fudge mixture into the baking tin and place in the fridge for 2 hours or until set. Cut into squares to serve.
