INDUCTION EXPLAINED

INDUCTION EXPLAINED

BOIL TO SIMMER IN SECONDS

Induction cooktops have been finding their way into new kitchens and for good reason. Fast, safe and easier to clean, it’s hard not to love induction cooking. Pans and food not only get up to speed faster, but cool down quicker too, which makes life easier for any cook, especially when creating delicious dishes.

What is Induction Technology?

Temperature Control

Precise control of temperature with extremely even heat distribution means less chance of foods boiling over or overcooking.

Safer To Use

Enjoy faster heat without the flame. Heat can transfer to your pan almost immediately saving you lots of time.

Easy To Clean

Having a smooth glass-ceramic surface means induction cooktops are simple to clean. Just grab a soft sponge or cloth, wipe it down, and you are done!

Energy Efficient

The cooktop itself does not get hot and most turn off automatically when not covered by a pot or pan, saving on energy.

Induction Technology Glossary

We’ll break down all the tech talk and acronyms that you need to know.

Induction Cooking

A cooking method that uses electric currents to directly heat pots and pans through magnetic induction. Instead of using thermal conduction (used in a gas or electric element), induction heats the cooking vessel itself almost instantly.

Electromagnetism

The process of creating heat energy inside the cooking pan/pot itself, instead of firing it in from outside. As a result, this cooks food more quickly and safely with less energy.

Magnetic Cookware

Cookware that is made of a magnetic-based material, such as cast iron or magnetic stainless steel.

Magnetic Field

An invisible area of energy that is produced by electricity.

Pan detection

When a pan is sensed and connects with the induction cooktop.

What is an Induction Cooktop?

On the surface, induction cooktops share a similar look to glass top electric ones, however an induction cooktop uses electromagnetic waves to heat cookware, essentially turning your pots and pans into their own heat source for efficient cooking.

How does induction cooking work?

Induction cooktops work by producing an electromagnetic field that creates energy around their glass surface. The energy created heats the base of the cookware that's positioned correctly on the cooktop. Cooking with induction makes mealtime easier with quicker heat, precise control, and easy clean up.

Is induction cooking better than gas?

For many years, ‘cooking with gas’ was the only choice for anyone serious about cooking – not anymore. Now with induction a viable option, you have more choice than ever. While we think both are amazing, one technology may suit you more than the other depending on your cooking style and preferences.
