Keeping your fridge and freezer separately cool is the Twin Cooling Plus technology(1); this feature keeps odours isolated to each area and maintains the perfect temperature and humidity for food preservation. Power Freeze distributes a fast current of cold air into your freezer to quickly chill your frozen food. The Power Cool function similarly blows cold air into the refrigerator cabin to promptly chill food and drinks. Refreshing water is always available without the need of a tap; the built in water dispenser provides refreshing chilled water from the fridge without installation(2). The large capacity door bins allow easy access to large bottles and jugs with compromising on space. Also, the large capacity crispers provide even more space to store your favourite fruit and vegetables. The Auto Ice Maker ensures you have access to a large quantity of ice all year round(3). The exterior of the Samsung fridge comes with an Anti-Fingerprint finish; this prevents left over fingerprints from staying on the outside surface, keeping its high quality aesthetics. Constructed to fit into the Australian Kitchen this French Door Refrigerator can fit within a standard 1800mm high / 900mm wide cavity(4). (1) Based on testing comparing Samsung Twin Cooling Plus with Samsung All Around / Mono Cooling Systems. (2) On demand water from the dispenser is subject to the container being re-filled. Bisphenol A (BPA) is found in polycarbonate plastics and epoxy resins, which are often used in food and beverage containers, and has been linked with possible adverse health effects.     Brilliant Fridge for Young Family

    After our baby started solids, it was time to upgrade to a larger fridge. This 495L Samsung fridge is a great size for our family of three, with plenty of room on the shelves, drawers, and door inserts. The shelves are wide and quite deep so you can fit plenty on them, there are also two decent sized drawers for fruit and vegetables. The door inserts range in size, with the biggest easily holding a 3L bottle of milk and two 1L cartons. The smallest shelves are enough to hold a few jars or sauce bottles. The freezer has two drawers which are deep and fit plenty. There is a plumbed ice maker which does take up a decent amount of room if in use but it's easy to remove the tray and turn off the ice maker if you prefer the extra room. The non-plumbed water dispenser is good to have. Holds 4L which is plenty. The two small gripes are that it can dribble down the glass as you start/stop using it, and removing the container to fill is not at all easy, so much so that I now just remove the shelf above it and fill it while it's still in the fridge. All around, the fridge is cool and the freezer is very cold with easily adjustable temperatures. There's also a handy PowerCool and PowerFreeze mode, with PowerFreeze being particularly handy if you buy bulk meats to chill them quickly. Externally, the fridge has a sleek design and a nice finish. It is fingerprint resistant but in the right light some can still be seen, although this would be expected with any metal finish. The unit itself also feels solid with good weight behind the doors and freezer drawer.

    Perfect for a large family

    Excellent value for this reliable Samsung French Door Refrigerator.

    Why did I buy this product? The reason being that I owned the almost identical Samsung Refrigerator for 18 years. I’m pretty sure that I paid more for that one in 2008, than it cost me today. The original was still working, but had begun to ice up quite a lot, so when I saw the price, and given the longevity of the first one it was a no-brainer.
