Shopping online with The Good Guys means shopping online with confidence.

That’s because The Good Guys NEVER store your credit card information at any time - even temporarily. We have partnered with the National Australia Bank and Payment Express to provide a Visa and MasterCard and American Express certified gateway that facilitates electronic payments via the internet, directly to the bank. The Payment Express gateway is AIS (Account Information Security) and SDP (Site Data Protection) commonly encompassed as PCIDSS certified and uses industry standard 256-bit encryption verified by the Verisign Trust Network.

Knowing that no part of The Good Guys website has any access to your credit card information, means greater security for you. Verified by Visa and MasterCard SecureCode and American Express SafeKey are new ways to add safety when you buy online. Adding a password to your existing Visa or MasterCard or American Express Credit Card ensures that only you can use your Credit Card online. It's easy to activate for your existing Credit Card, and it's free. This password is entered at Visa or MasterCard or American Express's websites and kept by Visa and MasterCard for use on the growing number of websites that support Verified by Visa and MasterCard SecureCode and American Express SafeKey.

Please note this is NOT information that is kept or requested by The Good Guys, the form that appears in the process is from your Credit Card issuing bank. The Good Guys does not store or have access to any Passwords or PIN numbers. We will not be able to provide them to you at a later date.

How does MasterCard SecureCode work?

First you must register and create a MasterCard SecureCode. Each time you make an online purchase at a participating merchant, a pop-up box will appear automatically, asking for your MasterCard SecureCode, like the bank does at the ATM. When you correctly enter your MasterCard SecureCode, your card issuer confirms that you are the authorised cardholder and your purchase is completed. If the correct code is not supplied, your card issuer cannot confirm your identity and so the purchase may not go through.

How does MasterCard SecureCode protect me?

When you correctly enter your MasterCard SecureCode during an online purchase at a participating merchant, you confirm that you are the authorised cardholder and your purchase is then completed. Is MasterCard SecureCode easy to use?

Yes. When you make an online purchase and enter your MasterCard payment information, a pop-up box from your card issuer will automatically appear and prompt you for your MasterCard SecureCode. After reviewing the details of your purchase and confirming that your Personal Greeting (see "What is a Personal Greeting?" for more details) is correct, simply enter your MasterCard SecureCode to complete your purchase.

How will MasterCard SecureCode impact my purchase?

How will the online merchant know that my card is protected by MasterCard SecureCode?

When you use a card you have enrolled in MasterCard SecureCode at participating online merchants, the merchant does not know that your account is protected until you finish the purchase and confirm your identity to your issuer. At that point, your issuer guarantees your purchase to the merchant, but never shares your MasterCard SecureCode. For more information, visit the Mastercard website
